Rearranging Library Entries
I was tasked with setting up a new pc for my wife, who is a big Calibre user. Instead of exporting and importing the files in her library, I reinstalled Calibre and copied over all the Library entries. However, what I thought were the files that represented Mobi saved books, I set up the library by author names, not Mobi files. How can I now import all the entries in my wife's library and have Calibre indicate that the saved entries were book titles, and not author files (including epub, bookcover, mobi files, etc). Is there a way to do this so that future books, when converted, become part of the library, unlike how I now show it, as author files? All assistance gratefully appreciated.

I have no idea what you really did.
But the simple way is to copy the WHOLE Library FOLDER (contents), replace the entire contents (delete it first) on the new PC start Calibre. It should be the same as it was. Note: if you did not ALSO replace the Configuration Folder CONTENTS, plugins and other USER visual customization will be missing FWIW there is a FAQ on this task at the official HELP site |
