Small scratch less than 1mm of length

Hi,
I remarked a small scratch measuring less than 1mm of length on my Libra yesterday. I don't know if it's dented the screen, because it is so small.
Now, it annoys me so much.
I was wondering if that could be a factory imperfection. I can't join you a photo because 1. My camera is dead (battery) and I don't have the charger and 2. You won't even see it because it is so small.
I would be a little less annoyed if this could be a factory imperfection. It's possible that it's been here since I received it, because I never turned the screen to full brightness (and remarked it) until yesterday.

How long have you had the device?

I don't see Kobo accepting a scratch on a screen as a factory defect considering how they package their devices when they send them (with screen film, sturdy box, padded mailer, etc.). You'd have to be able to prove that it came in the box like that the day you got it (photos, etc). A scratch would be seen as a result of user-caused wear and tear, and it can happen without us realizing what we're doing with our devices.

However, I'm not an expert; I've only dealt with Kobo replacements a handful of times. Hopefully, someone will chime in with more knowledge. They also do include warranty information with the box (I might check the parameters of your warranty in that as far as what they cover and what they won't).

Call or write them and tell them you need to exchange it.

Call your credit card company and see if you can reverse/undo the charge in case Kobo gives you grief (not that I'm expecting it but you never know). You might be surprised at how easy it is to have a disputed charge (e.g., defective product that the seller won't refund or exchange) removed from your bill.

Out of curiosity, why should Kobo be expected to replace a device and/or lose money on said device for something that may not be their fault, especially after two weeks?

From experience, they will ask for proof, and they are within their rights to refuse replacement. Warranty doesn't cover damage that can be considered user-caused wear and tear.

I don't even see it anymore now, when I don't think at it.

The longer you wait, the less change you'll have of getting it swapped for the scratch.

When it's a brand new device, even a nearly microscopic blemish will look like the Grand Canyon because it seems like that all you can focus on. But the longer you use it, the easier it is to overlook, and pretty soon, you won't even notice it at all.
