Touch Transfer of Kobo files

Kobo Touch Software Version 4.34.20097

I have been able to successfully upgrade my Kobo Mini from 4GB to 16GB, and place within the dictionaries I find most suitable via copy and paste.

First: Updating my Kobo Touch I have noticed that it now has the option for 24hr time mode. I prefer this mode and would like to transfer the file into my Kobo mini and Libre2. I would like to attempt this in the same way that one can transfer Kobo dictionaries, does someone know the file it is in so I can copy and paste.

Second: My PC is Windows 10 v22H2 what is the best software to use to get into Sony / Kobo firmware to have a look around and to gently (beginner) learn to manipulate and change?

The 24 hour time setting is part of the 4.34.20097 firmware. I would not suggest trying to copy a file from one Kobo to another to enable this. Update the firmware on your other Kobo devices instead. See pgaskin's Kobo Firmware Downloads page for links. For the Mini, use either Kobo Touch C or Glo (Kobo4 hardware) links, the Libra 2 has it's own link to the newest firmware (Kobo9 hardware) links.

It is a shame that one cannot get into the Kobo software as easily as a PC. I am mostly concerned that eventually Kobo may lock up their system the same as Kindle’s. For us amateurs it then becomes more difficult to internally twiddle.
For example, my PC has only a max of 5hrs max for system to go to sleep. By going a tad deeper into the software I have been able to reset it to 12hrs a most useful time should one err... proceed heavenwards.
I will continue to read the posts on this site and hopefully determine the best way forward without having to go through a full update.

From what I know of Kobo's developers and the point that they have kept the Kobo system open since it's first release, I don't see a sudden change in direction. Admittedly, that's the kind of statement that is almost guaranteed to come back and kick me in the butt.
