Kobo aura one will have one more recognized by Caliber software
Hello the forum,
For a few days now, my Kobo aura touch e-reader has not been recognized by Caliber; my pc seems to recognize it but does not display it in windows explorer. When I connect the e-reader to the pc, it tells me that it is connected. I have updated all Windows and Kobo updates and installed the latest Caliber. Nothing works. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thank you in advance. Last edited by donpopo; 07-26-2020 at 08:58 AM. |

I actually tried another cable, and other usb ports.
But I noticed that the kobo was well recognized in device management, but in computer management, the Kobo drive was listed as unallocated drive and without a letter to identify it. (It is however registered this disc works correctly) This issue has appeared since the last big Windows 10 update. |

I haven't seen any issues with my Kobo ereaders since one in the Windows Insider Previews a while back. Current setup is Windows 10 x64 2004 on a physical box, Windows 10 x64 build 20175 on a VM. |

Try a different computer in case something's up with your current computer.

Did you assign a drive letter in Disk Management then? I don't think Windows will ever "see" a drive without a letter assigned. If you remember what it used to be, I'd use the same drive letter.

Creating a volume and formatting it might work but it would also destroy the contents of the drive. I'd suggest a full factory reset instead. Disconnect from the computer, open search, type devmodeon, close search. Open settings, Device information, Developer options, Factory reset your eReader (this does the old full factory reset which will wipe and rebuild the FAT32 partition exposed during a USB connect). |

You can assign a drive letter in Disc management without destroying the file system. I tend to do that as it means they don't change. The problem could be caused by another device being added that took the usually allocated driver letter. I think I've seen a problem like this when I allocated the same letter to two different devices, and then plugged them in at the same time.

Here is! I have tried everything. I am correcting this book
I formatted the Kobo drive to Fat32 and gave a letter. Windows recognizes it as a local disk. Caliber accepts that I send epub to the Kobo, but when I unplug the Kobo, it automatically resets to factory settings and nothing is formatted. I'm giving up. I am correcting this book I will order the Pocketbook. Thanks to all. |

No, Windows 10 64-bit in general is not a known problem. I have Windows 10 64-bit and I've never had a problem with my H2O and PW3.
Question is, which version Windows 10? Mine is Windows 10 Home 1903 64-bit. You can fnd out bu going to Settings > System > About. |
