Smile Quick question about Kindle Touch (Model: WP63GW)

Hi. Does anyone know how to get the Kindle Touch (Model: WP63GW) into USB diagnostics mode? It is the Kindle Touch with only the single button on the bottom, and nothing else. It is currently bricked and I am trying to use Kubrick to sort it out. And it is asking for me to put it into the USB diagnotics mode in the wizard (currently not picking it up). Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for the link... I translated it, but I’m not sure I understand (apologies If I’m wasting your time). When they refer to the home button, which would that be? The Kindle Touch I have only has a single power button on the bottom. I don’t see any other buttons on it, hence my confusion. Do you perhaps know or possibly point me in the right direction? Thanks again. :-)

Well, my link is not for your device, it is for real Kindle Touch.
Your one is called KT2 (Kindle 7th Generation), serial number begins with B0C6 or 90C6, correct?
If it doesn't switch to the diagnostic mode after connecting the usb-cable, you need to open it and solder to the serial port. No software method of debricking, unfortunately.
(Assuming that it is not visible from computer as usb-drive).

Ok, well, thank you for the help anyway. I’m really not sure what my Kindle is called then, as it has a touch screen and has the model number on the back of WP63GW, not the ones that you mentioned in your post. The soldering thing is not in my area of expertise, so I assume that means it’s the end of my Kindle. Will have to see if I can get another one, seeing that this one is out of warranty. Thanks again for trying to help. I appreciate it. Have a great day.

Hi. I’m not quite sure, actually. I copied a book over while it was plugged into my PC. I ejected it as I always do and disconnected it. But then it gave an error stating that “An error has occurred. This usually happens when you don’t eject the Kindle safely. Please wait while the Kindle tries to fix this” message (Not exact wording). After a good while, it restarted to the main screen (The boy reading under the tree), with no progress bar. And it has been there for over five days now. I’ve charged it for over 24 hours, tried rebooting by holding in the bottom button for 40 seconds (which only causes the screen to blink twice and go back to that state again) but still nothing. PC doesn't recognize it either anymore. Looks like I’m gonna have to start saving for a new one :-( Pity, as this was a great little unit until it decided to end.

That is a shame that a side loaded eBook bricked your Kindle. You do have another choice, since you have to save, you might want to look into Kobo at a cheaper price. You can get a Clara HD or a Libra H2O. The H2O is similar to the Oasis 3 except better firmware and cheaper price. The Clara HD is cheaper then the PW4. But if you are set on another Kindle, supposedly Prime day (if you have Prime) is sometime in October and Kindles should be on sale.

Thanks so much for the help. I’ll definitely check these other options out. The make doesn’t really bother me, as long as I can read books, I’m happy. Haha. Gonna check them out today. Appreciate the help. Have a great day.
