History of SciFi/Fantasy
I'm looking for a book on the history of scifi and fantasy fiction. I'd be interested to read about the beginnings and development of modern scifi/fantasy, as I like reading this and would be interested to read how they've grown, developed and changed etc.

The Trillion Year Spree by Brian Aldiss. Sense of Wonder has a huge number of the stories themselves. As does Jeff Vandermeer's Big Book of Science Fiction.

Yes, that aspect is discussed somewhat, and more interestingly, the other nominees (or potential nominees before there was a shortlist) are also discussed which makes for some interesting analysis and insight.

Is there some other resource you would wish to put forward which would cover this material better?
