I guess the image link didn't work in previous message so here's the text:

jon@jon-VirtualBox:-$ sudo apt install ./Downloads/sigil 0.9.9+dfsg-1 amd64. deb

Reading package lists. . . Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Note, selecting 'sigil' instead of './Downloads/sigil 0.9.9+dfsg-1 amd64.deb' Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies: sigil : Depends: sigil-data (= 0.9.9+dfsg-1) but 1.1.0+dfsg-1 is to be installed

Depends: python3 (< 3.7) but 3.8.2-Oubuntu2 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Sigil 0.9.9 is quite old. The last version to use BookView is Sigil-0.9.14 and the current version for Linux is Sigil-1.2.1.

You may run into issues with Qt as well.

We have absolutely nothing to do with Sigil packaging on Mint/Ubuntu. Sounds like they're installing a mix of Sigil 0.9.9 and 1.1.0 packages. Ubuntu 20.04 (which is what Mint 20 is based on) has Sigil 1.1.0 in its repos. that's what Mint 20 should be using, too.

Perhaps make sure all of your repositories are updated/refreshed and try again?

Or if you insist on manually installing the 0.9.9 Sigil.deb, you'll also need to manually downgrade the sigil-data package to match.
