Pasted text keeps reformatting within Calibre
Hello.
Sorry if I'm posting this is the wrong forum but I'm not sure which forum it falls into. It's probably a simple adjustment I need to make in the settings somewhere but can't see which one. Whenever I copy the book "blurb" from Amazon or goodreads (or anywhere actually), I post it into the Comments box when in Edit Metadata. When I do that and say OK, it automatically puts extra gaps between the pasted paragraph. Even if I go back and remove the gaps and hit OK again, it does the same. So then I'll convert (mostly epub to mobi) and when import the converted book, it too has all the gapping between paragraphs. As soon I backspace to remove the gaps, I then also have to use backspace again to remove a 1 character indentation at the beginning of each paragraph. This has become rather tedious and time consuming every time I have to add the missing blurb. Does anyone have a solution please? Normally when I paste, I use "Paste and match style". Many thanks for any recommended tweaks .... nephtine ![]() |

If you use shit+enter, it'll add a
instead of splitting it into a
which will make the gap not appear. Unfortunately you'll probably need to manually edit it unless you want to do a search-and-replace the entire thing.

Terisa de morgan wrote a nice 'Cleaning Comments' plugin that works for me:

I use that plugin myself, and I pretty sure that it results in gaps between the paragraphs. (It's still very useful though and I hope someone takes up the development for Python 3.)

If you dont want margins between paragraphs, go to Preferences->Look & feel->book details and add
p { margin: 0 !important } to the text styling section at the top |
