Troubleshooting Can see books in Directory from computer, but not in the kindle

Calibre books are visible from computer in the Kindle directory, but even searching the title in the kindle does not find the book. It happens if i load it from Calibre or load the mobi files to my computer then copy to the Kindle directory. On an older kindle, it works! What is wrong?

same situation on my kindle oasis 1st gen. May be because of 5.12.5 firmware problem.

Ugh, that sounds irritating. I search for books a lot to read them so hopefully this bug doesn't spread to me. Do you both see the books listed if you manually go through your library, or the books missing altogether? I hope Amazon isn't experimenting with ways to mess up Calibre conversion. Probably not, but you never know.

That's happened to me a few times. I find that loading another book often shunts it along.
