M96 best stable firmware?

Hello,

I have an Onyx Boox M96 originally bought from ereader-store.eu (currently ereader.store) running Android 4.0.4

Version: dev (8378 - f9bebbc)

Build: 2015-05-06_17-56_dev_31241db

Is there a better (faster, more stable, more compatible, less buggy, ...) firmware to upgrade it to? If so, where do I get it from?

Also, are there applications that are significantly more user-friendly that the built-in ones?

Thank you.
