Kindle DX. What's now?

Hello, friends.
I have my Kindle DX. It's really cool ebook, I like it.
But it is no longer new. The book is working properly, but Amazon has decided to stop supporting this book. So the most interesting feature of this book - Internet access no longer works.

But at the same time access to the Amazon store remains open. However, it is impossible to register, and therefore nothing can be downloaded from the store.

Please tell me, is there any solution to go online with the Kindle DX today?
I recently found out about the MKK add-on tool for the Kindle DX, but I couldn’t understand what this was and how to use it?
At the moment, I have installed firmware 2.5.8, the Kindle DX 009. Jailbreak 013 is installed, launcher is installed and cool reader 3 is installed on top of it.

The DX and DXG with 2.5.8 do register and can access Amazon Store (which is pointless, because purchasing and download for later transfer is better). However most sites with HTTPS rather than HTTP won't work due to out of date certs.

If the DX lost the time & date you may need to leave WiFi/3G on for some hours, or try daily before the date corrects from 1970 to now. It does eventually.

There were a couple of updates for those older models. Have they been run? The Kindle services updates didn't change the firmware number, so that would be the first thing to try.

Where to get the correct update:

Make sure to download and transfer the correct bin file for the matching serial number.

Edited to add...I've no idea how the jailbreak affects this.

Please read the guidelines in regard to image size before uploading another image.

The services update doesn't change the firmware number, so unless you know for sure it was installed, try installing it again.

Indeed you were right! Just tried to register and registration was successful! Although yesterday I tried to register all day and nothing worked. I contacted Amazon support where they told me to buy a newer book. Amazing nearby.

As for the Internet. Pages do not open in an extremal browser. I tried many different sites, but none opened. Maybe you tell me an example of a site that opens in the Kindle DX browser? Thank.

At large browsing hasn't worked well for years. Most sites are too complex for the browser on the e-ink Kindles, not to mention security issues that prevent them for loading. That browser hasn't been changed or improved for many years. It was never meant to be used for surfing the internet.

As 3g services are becoming less available, this also will affect how well the old devices connect.

Amazon store works fine, it works smoothly loading pictures of books and a lot of text.
However, I would like to find an example of a pair of sites that the Kindle DX might visit. And in their image to create a website where useful information will be stored for the owners of this book. I tried sites like:

http://www.fluffy.com/fluffy/Fluffyhome.html

All sites are simple. But not one of them opened. Maybe there are other examples that open?

The amazon store may look like it uses the browser, but it's a direct connection, not really via that experimental browser.

You can't surf the internet via that browser. Amazon put the stop to that some years ago. Why should they pay for your access?

The necessary link to their store of course still works. But if you do a little research, you'll find that the 3G browsing at large is something that Amazon no longer supports.

I can not agree with you. I was able to go to the page cool.narod.ru on Monday. The text of the page appeared, but the image did not appear. After that, I rebooted the Kindle and the next time I couldn’t access this site.

This issue has been talked about for years, particularly on the defunct Amazon forums. Newer Kindles with 3G have always been limited to Wiki, Amazon, and maybe Google. Some years ago, international browsing was limited to 50mb per month using the 3G that was unwritten by Amazon.

Why should Amazon pay for your browsing that has nothing to do with them?

From a current Kindle User Guide:

Your Kindle includes an experimental web browser that enables you to surf the web and view most Amazon web pages. The Experimental Web Browser supports JavaScript, SSL, and cookies, but does not support media plug-ins. You must have a Wi-Fi connection to access most websites.

If you are wanting to use your Kindle for browsing and other Internet activities, get a tablet instead of using the DXG. eInk Readers are rather poor at browsing and depending in what else you want to do, can also be very poor.

No, I just want to see at least one working web page in my Kindle. Perhaps by the type of this site it will be possible to create a page where you can watch the weather or the latest news for all owners of the Kindle DX.
