Viewer from 3.48 only

Hello Folks,
i am still on 3.48 as i am running windows 7. Calibre 4.x has problems with my Windows version because of some drivers specially the ebook viewer. Lot of times only black pages.
But as some plugins are further developed and only run under 4.x, i am thinking to update and use the ebook viewer from 3.48.
Is there a downloadable zip or whatever file which only contains the ebook viewer and his needed dll´s etc? Kind of viewer portable.

..or does 4.16 also has other problems with Windows 7?

If you have problems with the 4.x viewer due to video drivers, there are probably other calibre features that will have similar problems in version 4.x; such as the comments editor, and the ebook editor.

But, if your problems are just with the viewer, then maybe your problem isn't video drivers. This thread, from post 16 onwards, may offer some things to try ==>> [Help] Calibre 4.X eBook Viewer Broken

Just to let you know....
I installed the latest Calibre 4.17, parallel the old 3.48 portable on my main hard drive.
Disabled in "Behaviour" that the internal ebook-viewer is called when an epub etc is going to be viewed.
Registered in the Registry the old portable ebook-viewer as default app, and that's it. Everytime i launch and epub, etc via klick in Calibre or anywhere else, the old viewer is launched.
