The short answer is maybe.
Battery life of the devices is frequently discussed here. For some ideas, have a read of the latest one https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=328199 |

Perhaps it still hasn't fully got past initialization phase. Turn off wifi and light and see how you do. |

The manufacturers calculate half an hour of reading a day. 10 hours is 20 days, about 3 weeks. Not the best value but maybe ok. How many times have you recharged the Reader since the purchase? Maybe it needs a little "training" until the full performance.

10 hours is definitely not normal for a Forma, (at least, with light below 50%). But be sure the device has been left to charge for a good 8 hours to be properly "Fully" charged. And a complete shutdown, (not sleep, you have to hold the power button for a few seconds for a shutdown) is a good idea, in case some background process got stuck and is grinding the processor.
Edit: I was assuming you mean 10 hours in a 1 or 2 day span, but you didn'tt actually say. If this is over a couple weeks, that might be quite normal) |

No, it isn't. The power-on process needs battery power significantly. Depending on the reading frequency you can discharge the reader faster with power-off/power-on then with the sleep state.

I'm pretty sure that is not what @rashkae meant. An unfortunately common cause of excessive battery use is something going wrong on the device. Such as a runaway process. Rebooting the device will clean this up.

FWIW, I'm getting 14-16+ hours.
The only explanation that I can think of is the case. At times, my (Kobo) case wakes my Forma when it's closed and runs the battery down. |

There is reading comprehension failure on my part. I just re-read the original message, an notice they explicitly said they read every "One Piece"... so am I correct in stating your message says you get about 10 hours speed reading manga?
I don't know of that's good or not, but I would expect you get much worse battery life than others get reading text.. heck, 10 hours sounds pretty good. |

well Yesterday my battery was down ( 8% approx )
So i adjust the screen light when i don't need during all this test , and i could read 21hours for 92% battery , i think it could be ok for manga reading ! I hope this life battery will increase with a novel ! |

For a second I thought I was on the Oasis forum....
I am considering moving to the Forma from the Oasis 2, mainly because of the larger screen size. I have never been happy with the Oasis practical battery life (it passes Amazon’s spec, but increasing backlight intensity and turning on WiFi saps the device) and was hoping the Forma would also improve that situation. Based on this thread, Am I safe in assuming moving to the Forma is not the panacea I seek? Thanks, Joe |
