Calibre Sort to match Kobo's Series Sort?

For reasons, I want a column in Calibre that will enable me to sort books in the same order as the "Series Sort" on my Kobo.

I've gotten close. I've created a custom column with a template of
{series}{series_index:0>5.2f}{title_sort}
and that almost does the trick. Where it falls down is when the series begins with "the", "a", or other such articles. Calibre, of course, does not have a "series_sort" analogous to "title_sort".

Can anyone suggest a way to build a custom series_sort column (or even modify my template to trim those articles on the fly?

(The long-term goal is to eventually be able to export books to a folder with series-sorted filenames for a device that doesn't read metadata.)

Never mind. I found an acceptable solution over in the Calibre forum:

{series:swap_around_articles()}{series_index:0>5.2 f}{title_sort}
