How to send parameters to recipe

I want run the recipe periodically from command line by sending some parameters so that the parameters can be used inside the recipe. Could anyone tell how to send parameters recipe ?

Use --username and --password which can be accessed inside the recipe as self.username and self.password

Thank you for the reply. Can I send even numbers for --username and --password params ?

they will always be strings, which you cna convert to whatever you want in your recipe.
