Pocketbook 912 Strange display's behavior

Hello.
Device: Pocketbook 912.
Problem: vertical strips on centre of display.
Solution: charge about 15 min or use hairdryer.
Anybody know what it is?

Sounds like a bad ribbon cable connection between the cable and screen, or cable and motherboard.

Charging generates heat, and apparently just enough to improve the connection. Not sure if the PB cable is connected w/ a removable connector or soldered in place, but if you're up to it you might try opening it up and re-seating the display cable. If that doesn't work you can try running a soldering iron quickly across the ribbon cable to re-flow the connections at each side.

...another common "fix" is to put it in a warm oven for a while, with the battery removed, not long enough nor hot enough to damage anything. Unfortunately consumer ovens don't have very good temperature control so it's not quite the same as a real reflow oven, much higher risk.

Cable is connected with removable connector. Already tried re-seating. Doesn't work.
Thank you for advice. I am going to try to solder connector on motherboard.

I vaguely remember reading about similar problems with the display when the battery was failing (not enough power to drive the display hardware). If you still have the original battery in your device, you might think about replacing it with a new one.

With probability 95% it is microcracks. When breathing on area with stripes at bottom of display strips disappearing.
