Can not connect into cloud

I have problems logging into the cloud connection (OneDrive, Dropbox) with my Calibre Companion.
The device is Boox Nova2, the system is Android version: 9
Both OneDrive and Dropbox work - only not with Calibre Companion.
My version is 5.4.3.3 (391)

dropbox with android CC has been broken for ~2 years. you cannot authenticate a new device. the new CCbeta (coming soon) may fix it & the list of testers is still open I think
oneDrive may also be long time broken - check other threads

With my Boox Poke Pro (Android 6.0.1, same CC Version) I have no problem connecting OneDrive.
And with my Smatphone (Android 9, same CC Version) no problems too.

when i tried with Google drive, login worked but app failed to find the library !
it has to search for a metadata.db file and in a large cluttered google drive that's a dodgy approach. previous author told me that the ( depreciated) GD API only pulls 100 or so files at a time to inspect.

it's unclear from various threads where the problem lies with One Drive, maybe cc garbles handling over the credentials for checking- OR maybe it disilikes "some" characters. you could try setting a very simple temp password, like "temp" , if that's allowed, and see if that gets accepted, but robably better to wait for the new app version. There's a similar but maybe not identical issue with the IOS version if you check threads for that.

I have changed to Box - this works and 10 GB are enough for me.

I looked at box but the 10gb free tier has a 250mb upload limit?
So I can't see how a 5gb calibre library can be uploaded?

I think, this is a file limit.
Today I have synchronized my complete library - about 7 GB.

i may give it a try.

I like dropbox but the first paid-for tier is way too big and way too expensive for what I need. So i get by on the free tier, except that the 3 devices limit is becoming a problem

i was able to add my library to box, so I will test with new beta CC when it arrives
( i had to install the box app and copy/paste to that on PC; dropping the whole library into chrome browser gave upload errors)
I see that the box app is a virtual mounted drive, not a local folder. dropbox syncs from a local folder which is bertter: you haev offlien access and another backup layer. I had trouble with that virtual drive approach with pcloud and free file sync.
I will test if I can sync (mirror) changes to box using FFS when I have some changes to sync

I created a folder, entered it in BoxSync.exe as a synchronization folder, copied my Calibre library into it and had BoxSync.exe synchronized.
If I make changes in my Calibre library now, I use FreeFileSync and synchronize my library with the library in the box folder without any problems.
And then I let BoxSync.exe synchronize again.
My CC find all books on Box.
Windows 10/64 Pro 1909

the program i downloaded from box is called box-x64.msi
you have a different program? from ??
Mine has created a folder ( virtual drive? ) in C:/users/me... i did copy paste to add the calibre library 5341 files
I see them, and I see them in cloud on the browser also, in what appears to be the correct calibre structure
having trouble getting it to play nice with free file sync though
FFS insists that all the files are different so it want to re-mirror all 5000+
will let it, then see if it behaves more sensibly afterwards
