Magazine subscription question

Anyone subscribe to magazines on your kindle (or kindle app)?
I remember a criticism I heard about was that after so many issues have gone by the older ones drop off and you cannot access them anymore. Is this true?

It may depend on the mag. I don't know.

I subscribed to a Spillogate magazine for a year.

I always use "Transfer via PC" and selected my main Kindle. That option works with phones and tablets too, if they have US2Go and you have an adaptor for the Kindle cable. Works on Windows, MacOS and Linux.

I cancelled ages ago and still have all the magazine issues.

Never rely on "Cloud Libraries"

They drop off the Kindle after six or so issues (but you can get them back by just hitting download in the usual way), and then theoretically are deleted entirely after a lot more issues -- but they've expanded the number of issues before "deleted entirely" hits often enough that I've never actually lost an old one (all my non-Calibre periodicals are monthlies).
