Ebooktakeaway features free classics.

Nice choice of titles.

I like that the books are available in text, html and the inevitable pdf. Interface is a bit clunky, but features a tip box (if you download this book, you might also like).

You can read the entire first chapter online before deciding if you want to download the book.

Do they have much that we don't? I suspect that our versions will be a lot better

I agree with you; their offerings are straight text ports from Project Gutenberg and are no where near the standard "set" by you and others here. We have become "spoiled" in that we expect "finely-crafted" ebooks.

The navigation menu system at the website appears quite useful, though, and is "value-added" (for ebook selection purposes) for those in search of ebooks to read/convert. Just that you would be then better off procuring a copy of that ebook here, if it exists or converting that ebook directy from it's PG source (especially if the .html version contains better formatting).

I mainly convert ebooks from .html and would rather opt for any .html version prepared by PG's Distributed Proofreaders! I've come to respect their efforts!

Yep, I saw it more as a resource for us "bookmakers", too. I think if it is available here. the bets are quite good that the quality of our's is higher, same as for manybooks, but, hey, they are worth to be mentioned. You can do an easier search than on PG, too.

Absolutely agree on that. Those guys are ace, most of the time.
