Changing LRF Cover Image
Is it possible to add cover image to an existing lrf file?
I have some files that I have converted about a year or so ago. I can't find the originals, and the files I have lack cover image. I know I can get Calibre to download a cover off the net, but if I understand it correctly it won't effect books that have already been converted to lrf. What can I do? [I'm sure I have seen a thread on this very issue someware. But I can't find it.] |

There is a thread about LRFtools -- I suspect adding covers is one of its functions, though I'm not the author. Search for LRFtools and see if that helps!

You could use Calibre to convert the LRF to HTML, LIT or some other format that Book Designer accepts, then open it in BD and add the image. Then export it as a LRF file. It's a bit roundabout, and I'm sure there's a faster, more efficient way to do it, but this gets the job done. Shouldn't take you long either, even though it's a hassle.

EDIT: I just checked, and I see a LRF2HTML exe file, so yes, my assumption was correct. |

It would appear that lrf2html is not fully implemented yet. And it seems "not fully implemented" means "does not work at all". Why is it then included in the Calibre builds, one would apparently have to ask Kovid.
Take a look at this though. Looks promising. Last edited by Valloric; 12-03-2008 at 09:48 PM. Reason: update |
