The People You Meet In Retail
This has actually happened to me. I have also had people call me and want me to tell them how much their diamond is worth. Customer on phone " I have a diamond can you tell me how much it is worth? My eldest son worked in a huge bookshop for years; a standard request was along the lines of ' I am looking for a particular book. I don't know the author or the publisher,and I have forgotten the title...but it's about the war. Do you know the one I mean?........It has a red illustration on the cover...and a picture of a soldier?....
Witty sarcastic reply should have been along the lines of 'Oh of course, I know JUST the one you mean...I'll go and have a look for it in the stock room... |
