calibredb question

there is a tool to print out a library, its called calibredb. I am having a problem getting calibredb to do what I want. Its pretty simple, I want to have a list of titles and authors sorted by title or author (no problem) but only those books with a specific tag (in this case sci-fi).

Does anybody know the command to get this done (I just wasted 4 hours trying to figure it out to no avail)

thank you.............

Try
Quote:
calibredb list -s "tags:sci-fi"
or whatever the correct spelling of the tag is.

Might be easier to use the GUI to search and sort and then use the Create Catalog tool's CSV option, you may need to add it to a toolbar/menu.

thanks for the reply.
it was the search "-s" that had me bolluxed (for absolutely no reason) thanks again!

This got me all books with 'sci-fi' tag sorted by title, ascending.
calibredb list -s "tags:sci-fi" --sort-by=title --ascending

Calibredb is a Commandline tool (documented on the Calibre Help page)

You use those from the 'console' or command prompt (commonly miscalled DOS box)
