Calibre crashes when reading from device

At around 45 seconds Calibre crashes reading from my device. and each time i restart it it with the tablet connected it crashes faster and faster until it crashes at startup. If i remove the device and reconnect it it starts the whole sequence over again.

It does this even after I've rebooted both my PC and the device.

Whats interesting is that I updated Calibre earlier today and it worked, but after ejecting my device and coming back a few hours later to add books it crashed.

Any help would be appreciated, this has been going on for a couple months now.

Sadly there is a crash that happens with some MTP devices. I have never been able to reproduce so cannot fix it. You can try reseting the device or if that is too disruptive, use one of the wireless connection methods described here: https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...kindle-fire-hd
