New Kindle Fire 7 isn't recognized by Calibre
I've run all the troubleshooting that is recommended. My computer recognizes the new device, but Calibre doesn't. Here's what the debug run says- which is another language to me. Any help would be hugely appreciated!! TY!

That device is reporting it has no storage available, which is why calibre refuses to connect to it.
This can usually be fixed by rebooting both the device and the computer. Also sometimes faulty/failing SD cards cause it. If you have an SD card in the device, try removing it. |

It’s a brand new Kindle, just bought and unpacked yesterday. Weird that it says there’s no storage.
I have tried rebooting both the Kindle and the computer. Nothing has changed. I’m not even sure if Kindle has an SD card. Any other suggestions? I’d prefer NOT to uninstall Calibre and reinstall as I assume I will lose all of my books. Thank you. |

It's a poor design by Amazon, in my opinion. Not obvious what you have to do at first.
Once you memorise SWIPE DOWN it gets easier |

Yes you have to remember to do it every time. It's the same with Android phones.
My wife forgets how, regularly, when she wants to connect to copy photos to pc The other option is to look at wireless solutions ,like send to kindle, but that only works with some formats |
