Tag Browser - Glitch with Formats, and some KB shorts don't work
Formats glitch, doesn't happen all tthe time - suspect it has something to do with VL switching
Configure Tag Browser (Ctrl+5) sometimes opens the drop down and gives it keyboard focus, but only immediately after opening the Tag Browser - I think. Find Next (Ctrl+2) opens an empty find box and gives it kb focus, but I would have thought that's what Find in Tag Browser (Ctrl+1) should do, and Find Next should only do anything if the Find box has been opened and there's something shown in it. 'Click' found item and Collapse All seem to work as they should. There's no way to close the Find Box, maybe Collapse all could do that. BR |

I need some way to reproduce the formats glitch. You can close the find box by clicking the red cross on its left edge.
As for find next opening the find box, seems perfectly logica to me. That way you only need a single kb shortcut. |

I'll try to find a pattern. But I suspect i won't find anything to induce it, because it's actually happening on all libraries - even immediately after starting calibre. I'll try rebuilding the databases. If I can't find a trigger, I'll post my Test library database at launchpad. It's not important, just looks odd to me. And I'm not sure how long its been there, I don't use the Tag Browser that much, especially the Formats category.

![]() So, given the Find in Tag Browser shortcut doesn't do anything, I suggest it be removed and Find Next shortcut be re-branded as something like Find First/Next in Tag Browser. BR |

This might give a clue - the Identifiers category has a similar singular top level entry, I expand the Identifiers list even less than Formats. All the other TB categories are fine - and there's a lot of them in my Test and Media libraries. I'll attach my L&F Tab Browser settings. I'm not sure what & where to look for config settings that effect the TB/Formats - any suggestions. I don't really want to redo all my preferences from scratch. BR |

First place to start would be gui.json. See if removing it fixes the issue, then since its a simple text file, bisecting it should by easy to find the culprit.
