MDI on DR

Hi,

The company I work for prints pretty much everything into MDI (Microsoft Document Image) files. Does the DR read these files without conversion?

If not, can anyone recommend a converter?

Find out who's bad idea it was to use MDI format and have said person strung up.

And then use PDF without such horrid margins most PDF have and you'll be good to go.

I've already asked.

An MDI "printer" came bundled with Office and installed as part of the Office install.

PDF writing software apparently costs money.

Exists free Pdf Printers, like pdf 995 www.pdf995.com/
you could use it to convert your documents to pdf.

I'm a fan of Cute PDF. Simple and effective.

Either way, when you use proprietary Microsoft formats, you're sol. You'll have to convert them to PDF to read on the DR.

If you're using Office 2007 there is a free add on from Microsoft that lets you save as PDF

Don't you still need a full version of Adobe Acrobat for that?

If it helps, I'm the IT Manager for a 100+ employee company and have run it for years without issues.

Software compliancy is a big issue for my company, I'm not in the IT Dept.
It's a global multinational so all areas have to approve.
