How can I sort by title without dropping either A or The?

I love the Calibre program but I have one problem with it. When it sorts by title it always moves A or The to the end of the title. For example the title The
Sound of Silence gets sorted as Sound of Silence, The. It still shows in the list by the correct title but it doesn't sort it that way and I have to go look for it under S instead of T.

Is there any way to stop this kind of behavior? I've got over 400 books and even splitting the books into other libraries still makes for a lot of books to search when it's doing this because I always forget and search for The Sound of Silence instead of Sound of Silence, The.

Any help will be enormously helpful and appreciated!!

See Preferences->Tweaks "Author sort name algorithm" and have a look at the "Use author sort in Tag browser" tweak.

And for searching, check these settings

While this would probably get the job done. It is like using a bachoe to pull a weed. (and I do not know where else, Calibre makes use of these values. So this gets a : NOT RECOMMENDED )

BR's way is the official, and recommended way

I think the OP wants the tweak to change title sorting to alphabetic instead of library order.

My bad, I got sidetracked by the search issue, and then translated title to author which led theducks down the garden path.

Thank you so much Chaley, that was indeed exactly what I needed!!! I really appreciate the help. At 65 and with over 400 books it's not always easy to remember how to look for a specific book. I've always sorted by exactly how the title reads (yes, I get a loooong list of The's and so on) so once I get to the A's, An's, The's and so on then I can just go down the list to the one I want.
