No longer able to open any books
Hi,

After I copied one new book to my Aura using calibre, I am no longer able to read any books on it. Whatever the book I open, I got a message that Adobe DRM licence is expired, even if I open a book that does not have any drm.

It also removed all the shelves that were predent before.

I never used any ADE release and have only no DRM books.

You could try a factory reset.

A factory reset is overkill. Signing out of he Kobo account on the device, and then back in, will probably fix it. It is probably a corrupt database on the device. Doing this will genrate a new one and reimport the sideloaded books.

@magphil make sure you properly eject your Kobo from the computer before you pull the cord.

Logout did work, but I had to go through kobo desktop to login again, and it did upgrade the firmware without asking. I now have release 4.19.14123 from 10/12/2019 and Calibre does not know the new DB format.

Just follow the instructions in the message; ie select the option in the driver confirmation to bypass the version check (not the exact message; I'm not at my PC).

There were updates. It was missed in the release notes. I did mention it in the 4.9.14123 thread. And, unless Kobo release an update the morning of a calibre release, it will be included. And even then, sometimes I can put the change in early.
