Kobo SD Card

I bought two old kobo wireless ereaders from shopgoodwill about a year ago both for under 10 dollars. One Kobo worked fine until an update which rendered it useless. A search for this fix revealed this kobo has a memory card which can be flashed so maybe one day I'll bring it back to life. The other kobo had a D-pad which crumbled so for a time I used it as a picture viewer. Then I needed a memory card for my kindle fire so I decided to swap out the kobo sd card to the fire. The SD card reformated fine but later I got a warning about the SD card being too slow. Since I don't plan on watching movies on my fire tablet is it safe to leave the kobo sd card or is it simply too slow/old?

SDCards are Cheep I just buy a new one.

Yes, SD cards are cheap but so am I. Since I already have an 2gb sandisk in the old kobo I wanted to use it The only problem is I think it is a class 2 card so it is slow.

No idea. That is probably a question for the Kindle forum. Someone there might be able to tell you what the minimum specs required for the Fire is.

Thanks, I posted here because I also have the Kobo_WiFi_N647_v1.9.zip image file necessary to bring my other kobo back to life but I haven't attempted to do it yet. This video makes it seems like it is a pretty straightforward process to flash the kobo sd card (if that is the correct term).

You original post only mentioned that in passing. And had nothing to do with the question about the Fire. Generally, you are better to separate unrelated questions into separate threads so that the replies won't be mixed up.

A lot of people have done this. It is just a matter of using an image writing tool to write the image to the card.
