I got a renewal notice for the OED online subscription for $90 a year, rather than the normal $295 a year. Pretty nice savings. That seems to be the same offer for new subscribers, if you are interested in OED and all it provides. I have a bit of fascination with the origins of a word and it's various usages, probably because I've been a history buff and read older works since I was in high school.

A reminder, if you are a British resident and a member of your local library you can probably use the OED online (need your library name and card number)

Happily, some libraries in parts of the world VERY far from Britain also offer their cardholders this precious privilege.
