Question upgrade question

After a long hiatus, I'm back to reading on an ereader. I've had an Aura HD for several years (bought almost brand new here in early 2014, thanks again Jen!). Anyway, I see that the newer models will work with Overdrive, so I'm looking at upgrading.

Of the three current models, Clara, Libra, and Forma, which would you recommend and why?

Thanks for your help!

All 3 are different sizes.
Can you tell us more about your needs/desires/usage situations?

Be aware that the Overdrive function requires that the Kobo store has the same edition of the book as the library. Usually it does but there are exceptions. If you do an Overdrive search from the Kobo itself you should find available books. However, if you sync the reader to obtain books you already checked out on another device you may occasionally run into one that doesn't work. Those can be sideloaded from your PC with Adobe Digital Editions.

I have used only the Clara so I can't compare the models, but I'm sure someone will be along soon who has owned two or all three.

Well, I primarily read novels and other fiction, along with some religious reading. Not muc for manga or comics. mostly kepubs, epubs with a few pdf documents.

Edited to add:

Thanks for the tip on overdrive. That's good info to have.

While I realize that the three readers have different size displays, how do they compare in overall size to the aura hd?

I prefer the Libra to the Forma just based on the slightly smaller but handier size, as it seems to rest more easily in my hands.

If you've got big hands, the Forma may work - it's got a screen larger the Aura HD and lets you get a larger view of the PDF due to being almost 8". The Libra is a bit bigger than the Aura is, screen-wise, while being smaller in dimensions.

For novels, I like the Libra more for the price. But if PDF files are a must, look at the larger unit.

Well, I ended up ordering the Forma with the intention to try it out and if not satisfied with it, to return it and get the Libra. Purchased it from Walmart.com on Sunday (12/15) with guaranteed delivery to my local Walmart by Tuesday. Checked on Monday and it was in, so I took it home. I LOVE it. Got it all set up and synced with Kobo and played with the settings and all. What a cool reader!

Of course, I then had to turn it off, put it back in the box, and give it to my wife, who (I hope) will wrap it and put it under the tree (unless she confiscates it and keeps it for herself, lol).

Thanks again for the recommendations everybody.

That is always the chance you take. It took a Libra with a coloured case for me to be able to reclaim my Forma.

Sounds like we married the same kind of woman.

Fortunately, her sister shared her kindle account with my wife and MIL several years back, so she seldom uses her kobo anymore.
