Qr codes to download books

Hi I just added qr codes to my calibre library and thought I would share
how I did it as I did not find any way on the forums

first I added a custom column and named it "qr code"
then set type to "column built from other columns"
then in template insert "

<img  src="https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=200x200&cht=qr&chl=192.168.0.102:8080/get/{format}/{id}.{format}" alt="Qr"/>

where 192.168.0.102:8080 is your servers address
tick show as html
click OK then apply it will ask to restart then you will see the qr codes

this will display a qr code in "book details" that will download the book on my android devices that are on the same network alternatively if you use this code it will take you to the details page

when i put the code in the template, it gave me a text in the book details page not QR code ...

anything wrong i did ?

You included the IMG tag part?

Wrap your exact code (copy-paste) into [ code ] tags so we can see what you really did

Just did a little test. For this to work, the column must have "Show as HTML in Book details". Also, the URL changed with calibre 3. The following template worked for me:

But, the "{format}" will produce a list if there is more than one for a book. If only want to download one format, then hardcoding that would work. Otherwise, you would need to do something to have it pick a format.
