PDFs not readable

I have strange problems with some pdfs and my Clara HD. On my Mac the info panel of preview tells me the pdf(s) is/are not protected. I can use them as expected directly from the file system.

When I try to open them on my Clara HD, a window popup tells me they are protected by Adobe DRM and I should activate my reader.
My Adobe ID ist activated, I logged out and in again, it didn't change anything.

What's wrong here?

I have one PDF that is triggering that message. It does have security, but the properties show it allows reading without the password. The device I tried it on has been activated. And, as I hadn't put an book on it from ADE for a long time, I used that to check that the it was authorized properly.

The other PDFs all seem to be OK. None have any security and were sideloaded from calibre. I havn't tried the one that isn't working for a while, so I don't know if it is a recent change or not.
