Columns not converting correctly

I am converting an azw3 file to mobi. About half of this book is written in a single column format, but the other half is written in a 2 column format. The 2 column sections are converting into a single column, alternating a line from the first column with a line from the second column. Is there a way to correct this (other than manually line by line)?

The other annoying thing it's doing is placing copyright information with changing gibberish (so I can't just do a quick find and replace) at the bottom of each page.

Help?

I dont see how azw3 files have two columns. Do you mean azw4? If so those are really PDF files, see the sticky at the top of this forum for limitations of converting PDF.

And the question is: Why convert from a more modern Kindle format to a older, less flexible format?

You claim your reader is K 4 Android,which should be fine with AZW3 or 4
