Create own cloud server?

I see the option for viewing books in the library on device/ cloud. This got me thinking... I have readyshare on my netgear modem (and could possibly move to subscribing to some type of external server idk), and was wondering if I can set up my calibre library and kobo to use this personal server?

It would be lit if I could just put my entire calibre library on this readyshare drive, and have my kobo access it, showing it as part of my library with an option to download them. Ideally it would work through the kobo software, but beggars can't be choosers.
