This is the first time Calibre has done this. I tested out if I could convert a mobi file to an epub and I'm also getting errors on that:

I'm not sure what's going on, it just doesn't seem to want to convert anything anymore

Any ideas on what to do?

Thank you!!

Something is interefering with calibre most likely an antivirus. Try running in safe mode and see if the conversion works.

Hi Kovid, thanks for your reply and amazing software! My whole family loves it!

I opened safe mode and it wouldn't even let me open Calibre at first. It said there was an error in the library database or something, and asked me if it would like to recover or fix it. It kept failing, so I made a new library. Then I was getting the following error:

Spoiler:
calibre, version 4.2.0

Tried turning off all my anti virus stuff as well, no luck. Not sure what's going on

Move your calibre library out of onedrive as a first step.

Hi Kovid, I tried that and moved the library into many different folders, but that still didn't work.

Weird thing: I ran Calibre as an administrator and THEN it has no problem converting anything. Not sure why that sudden change happened. Do you know why it now needs to be ran as an admin? Or how I can make it so I don't have to do that anytime I want to convert?

It seemed to have something to do with not being able to access the temp folder, I belive?

Try giving calibre its own Temp folder, see ==>> CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR in Environment variables
