Copy AuraHD to LibraH20

I put in a pre-order for a LibraH20 and am looking forward to getting it ... what, near the end of this month?

But, I'm wondering if there is an "easy" way to copy the books and the database I have on my Aura to new device? Yes, I use Calibre ... but the only options I see for this are to copy the library to a different computer.

I use the SAME Calibre Library with 2x models of Kobo, many Kindles (some are same model), a Nook and a Sony. All on ONE laptop.
I don't see a problem.
I used Calibre with SAME Library to swap two Kindle PW3 entire content too (aided by DRM plug in) between me and wife, so she could have the brand new one (well it was then).

My wife and I also have our own kobo's and that is all fine. But, what I want to do is to get a list of the books on my kobo along with the read-to-date, etc. database and copy all that to a new kobo.

My standard approach is to use the Kobo Utilities plugin and the Reading List plugin.

I first ensure Utilities is configured to save reading positions, then ensure Reading List has created a list based on contents of the old Kobo.

Then attach the new device, transfer over the books in the Reading List, disconnect and let the new device add to it's database, and finally have Kobo Utilities restore reading positions.

Hey, sounds like that'll work just fine. Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunate that the new kobo will need to generate a new DB. If memory serves, when you have a large number of books it can be pretty time intensive ... like a whole day

Simple Plug both Kobo into usb ports on PC The Transfer from the old one to new one. When I got my 1st Clara that's how I transfer Everything into it from my Aura. Depending on how much you have to transfer it could take a while.

When I got the current Clara & the Bigger SDCard I did the same thing.

Well your KOBO ebooks will be there automatically but to use Calibre to load your other ebooks you may want to wait till a week or two after you get the device. Usually, Calibre installs updates when a new device is out so the new device will be compatible. i notice it seems to take place a week or 2 after the release oif the new device

Hmmm... recently on a Kobo Forma, it took under 15 minutes to import 1600 books. The slow import issues were quite a few firmware revisions back.

I did NOT use Calibre. I used my PC & 2 usb cords hooked up to the Aura 6" & the Clara & Transferred the ebooks . 3,500 ebooks took 3 hours! Time I enjoyed reading a ebook on my Fire. You folks want to make Mountain out of Mole hill sheesh

I hate to say that if you used calibre, the transfer time would be lot less. Barbara was reading all those books over a slow USB 2 connection from her old Kobo and then writing them over another slow USB 2 connection to the new PC.

If you had used calibre then it would just have been the one transfer over USB to the new Kobo.

At the time I got the Clara None of my ebooks were on Calibre or any where on my PC hard Drive.

When I got my ebooks on Calibre later & tried to transfer more then 100 ebooks at a time the Dang Calibre would Lock up! I kept having to reboot pc. took dang near a Month to get it done.

The transfer I talking about you do the hookups then go into>devices & files folder> open the device you Have the ebooks in Right click the drop down open the ebook files HIGHLIGHT ALL Files! Then open the transfer file & click on the device you want to send them to! Then leave the PC alone Read a book watch a movie heck go to bed! SIMPLE!!!
