What are the return and warranty terms for the Kobo Forma and Libra when purchased at Walmart?

C'mon, that's not a pleasant thought. Calling and finding someone...and then finding someone knowledgeable and trustworthy... at Walmart would be a challenge.

Take off the tinfoil hat, no retail employee is going to lie to you over the phone about a return policy. You are literally not that important to them, and most places still do have corporate offices utilizing secret shoppers to call in and test them.

Now you may get a different tune when you go and try to make a return, but regardless of where you get the information this has an equal chance of happening.

I don't know, but I can guess that it's pretty much the Walmart "standard." So many days (30?) for a return or exchange and then they'll direct you to your Kobo warranty terms.

It's walmart, you ever see a Customer service counter? They don't ask, they don't care.. their only job is making sure the device is *in* the box and you aren't returning a bag of sand. (Edit: though someone might notice if you serial return a bunch. I'm not saying it's ok to buy 4 and pick the one you like the best.)

They may not lie, but they may not know/care either. I recently asked BB employees when I bought something (I wanted to make sure), and received 2 different answers. I would expect the same from Walmart employee.

Which is why it is nice to ask here to get actual experiences. And once you get your answers from here, it is probably a good idea to read the store fine print to verify.

I couldn't find the warranty itself posted anywhere on the Walmart site, only a reference to the extended warranty they may offer. But the original warranty would be from Kobo anyway, not Walmart.

Walmart's return policy for electronics is 15 days.

Their protection plans are through Square Trade. (For the US site)

Thanks all. Altogether, that is helpful and pretty much as I expected, especially with respect to the unreliability of Walmart assistance. (I've never shopped at Walmart.)

I had hoped the return policy was longer than 15 or 30 days since the item I'm considering will be a gift and I can't really wait until the last minute to purchase it.

And, m, I wasn't wearing a tin hat...whatever that means.

Hmm. there's no guarantee that any response posted by a random stranger here , or on any web forum, is knowledgeable and trustworthy.

we could just be making up s**t to pass the time.

or upscaling one individual event experience into some general rule

IMHO , a lot of people on a lot of web forums do exactly that.

Sure, but in this case, the info was easily found on the Walmart site. What I did to find the info was the exact same thing you yourself could have done just as easily.

There are people here on this forum, like any forum, that don't always post correct info. Myself included.

In general, electronics you buy from a Walmart store or at Walmart.com are eligible for return or exchange for 15 days, even if you don’t have a receipt
