Author Sort Copy... Isn't Copying?

Using Calibre 4.1 x64 I have the tweak for author_sort_copy_method set to u'copy'. Which, if I read the help properly, should simply copy over the author into author sort.

BUT, if I have an author like "Anne McCaffrey - Pegasus 01" (which I'm in the process of cleaning up) I get an author sort of "01, Anne McCaffrey - Pegasus".

Am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't it just copy the whole thing over without touching it? Is there another option to really JUST copy?

P.S. If it matters, this is after using Edit Metadata -> Automatically set author sort.

You may have found a unique edge case for Library Order part of the sort process.
LO has a list of words ('articles'), that it flips to the end. Somehow you confused it

Ah. I kinda figured it was something like that.

In the long run, for me anyways, it won't matter because I won't have authors with numbers after their names. It just frustrated me in the "fix it up" phase I'm in.

IMHO do your cleanup (field contents), then fix sorts and variations

of the names (
