Night mode for E-book viewer

As title says, is there a night mode for E-book viewer?

I tried looking everywhere but can't find it. I can change background and text color fine but then the menu on the left and on top keep their bright color no matter what I do.

I'm on Windows 10 with system themes set to dark and it works fine in Firefox or Google, but in Calibre window and menus always keep bright color. Calibre is supposed to take the dark theme from Windows but it doesn't. Even with user interface style set to "system default".

Is there a way to make the menus dark? Everything else in Calibre works perfectly but this one thing is so annoying.

windows 10 dark mode is not going to work with calibre, that is for UWP apps, not traditional win32 apps. But if you change your actual system color theme to dark colors as well, that will work.

Or just use the viewer in full screen mode, where it has no chrome.

I tried that but it only changes the color on the window bar at the top while side bar and search bar are still bright.

Fullscreen helps yes, but I prefer to have all the system bars one click away.

This is just a minor annoyance but it would be nice to have night mode in Calibre. Or just being able to change color for bars and windows.

you don't know how much it would mean to me and migraines if you added dark mode as a standard setting

Well in calibre 4 the viewer has no bars or search bar, so you can use it in windowed mode as well, with no issues.

Hello,
I have just started to use Calibre on an old tablet. It worked well, but I have some problems to with the "night mode".
I change the background & the font colors, but I couldn't find how to change the color of the clock and the pages counter at the bottom of the pages.
Do you know if it is possible and how?

Is is possible to have a night mode for the entire GUI, not just the ebook viewer? Or rather custom colors for the menu bar/tag browser/etc?

On OSes thathave a defined night mode like macOS it will work automatically in calibre 4. On other OSes it will use whatever color scheme is set in your system styles. On linux this is a bit of a crapshoot since "system styles" are not wel defined.

I'm sorry, my explanation was awful, let me start all over again.
So I took my old tablet working with Windows 10 and recycled it as a reader thanks to Calibre.

But I would like to have in the e-reader the background in black and the font in white. Would be better I think for the battery, and also for my eyes .
For now, I have found only one way to have that, is to change in the E-Reader parameters the background color and font color.
It works perfectly but, by default the color used for the clock & pages counter are black. So... I can not see them.

That is why I would like to know if there is a way to change the colors for clock & pages counter. And of course where it is .

Thank you in advance.

When Calibre version 4 is done being beta tested, you will get the fixes you want for the clock and pages counter.

Looks pretty much identical under Windows 10. Takes me back to using CRT monitors. Hmm.. background black, foreground amber...
