Use amazon.co.uk links instead of amazon.com
In the IDs row of the Book details pane, an asin: identifier always converts to an amazon.com link. I'd like it to link instead to amazon.co.uk.
I've been able to create a separate amazon.co.uk link from the "Create rules to convert identifiers into links" page in the settings, but the amazon.com link still shows as well, and I really only want the amazon.co.uk link. Is there any way to get rid of the amazon.com link, or to change the default link for the asin: identifier to amazon.co.uk? |

Use amazon_uk:XXX or amazon_gb:XXX (cant remember which) to have the identifier link to the UK amazon store

theducks: No, that doesn't make any difference - I already had it set up like that, but the link in the Book details pane still goes to Amazon.com.
kovidgoyal: I know I can use an amazon_uk identifier to link to the UK store, but my Kindle Paperwhite doesn't recognise this - it seems to need an asin identifier to link the book to Goodreads, which results in an Amazon.com link in Calibre's Details pane. I'd sooner not have links showing there for both Amazon UK and US as it takes up space and reduces the width available for the book description. |

amazon: is always going to link to amazon US. As for the asin for kindle, that is mobi-asin: not amazon, and that does not become a link in book details.
If you really want to override the link for amazon, IIRC you can do it with Preferences->Look & feel->Book details create rules to convert identifiers tolinks. |

Thanks, I've got it working now. Removing the asin identifier and replacing it with mobi-asin means the Amazon.com link doesn't show; and I've created a rule to convert the mobi-asin identifier to an Amazon UK link. I thought I'd read somewhere that mobi-asin doesn't work with Kindles, but it works fine after fixing with the Quality Check plug-in.
FWIW, the "Create rules to convert identifiers to links" doesn't seem to override the default links, it just creates new ones that appear alongside them. |
