What time is it...??(my kindle doesn't remember)
Hi guys. 2018 Paperwhite with the koreader/kual thing I installed last December. Doesn't seem to remember the time, regardless of how often I set it.
Any thoughts...?? Thanks. |

If you are allowing network access, then you can find a KUAL addin of mine that will set both (correctly). (my name + gettime; or something like that) |

You need to be more specific.
How much is the time in error? How are you setting the time? Does your setting last any time at all? Is you kindle registered? Do you ever connect to wifi? Do you have usbnetwork or a terminal installed? |

Time seems to only count when device is on. I don't actually connect to wifi or any network as I never saw the need.
Not sure if it's registered, but I think it is. Is allowing network access the only way for it to keep time...?? Honestly, it's not an overwhelming concern, thought maybe it was just me.(it usually is). Thanks. |

Mind you, if allowing network access is generally a good idea, lemme know...
Thanks |

;setdate is your friend (or just use @knc1's frontend to that, as mentioned earlier).

Which means allow network access, right..??
Are there any other benefits to allowing network access..?? Thanks. (I'll work on the device a little later, after the wife goes to bed...) |

;setdate is offline (it takes a unix epoch).

Have you seen the pinned jailbreak index?
It basically makes your Kindle look like a USB Ethernet card with a cable plugged in ... to your Kindle. We use that to connect to the Kindle via SSH without needing to connect via Wi-Fi. |
