norton websafe and other such anti malware tools
Hi All
apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I have my calibre library hosted on a couple of free hosts. One of which is dropbox, via updog.co Suddenly out of the blue it has been marked as a bad domain by amongst others norton safe web. looking at the report I think it's because there was 2 other sites on the updog domain that had previously been dodgey. how do you get this reversed. It seem i would have to sign up for a norton account just to get in touch with them, my stance being why the bloody hell should i have to... anyone had this happen, or know how to get it easily sorted? cheers Dave |

Norton is rubbish. Using a script blocker such as noscript, umatrix or ublock is FAR more effective.
1) I'd not worry as people using Norton safe web is a small percentage. 2) About $8 pa for a domain and $10 to $100 for proper paid hosting. With free services YOU are the product and inevitably many domains with free hosting get blocked due to miscreants hosting malware etc on them. Conclusion: 1) Change your hosting. 2) Never sign up to an inept service just to complain. Get the hosting company to complain, more clout. |

Friends never let friends use Symantec (Norton) Products
![]() They buy up good companies and , after a time, either turn them into (bloated) rubbish or kill off that division (they just wanted the patents). (Fact: More than 1 friends job got suck up, then gone after a year ) |
