				All my highlights are gone

I was halfway through this book. I highlighted many sentences of it. Today i opened my kindle and book wasn't on where i left off, it was at the begining. And all my highlights disappeared. Nothing wrong about highlights of other books.

Why did this happened? What can i do to prevent this from happening again? |

if the book was bought from amazon, ask them to investigate and to find the lost highlights for you

Should at least be able to find what you highlighted by looking at My Clippings and reconstruct from that. But you’ll probably want to connect to a computer and use a text editor to look at that.

I would also check to see what might be up in read.amazon.com/notebook (assuming this is from Amazon, and that you allow sync to happen regularly). If that looks okay, then try removing and re-downloading the book. I can imagine that if the reading app crashed while you were reading that book (silently perhaps), the sidecar file that holds the highlights and current location could have been corrupted when updating it. Not that I’ve ever heard of something like that happening. There may be a log file that Amazon can pull off that might explain what happened. |
