Aura ONE Aura One Limited Edition: Red or orange frontlight?

Hello-

I’ve seen a few people speculate that the Kobo Aura One models manufactured early in the product lifecycle have a red Comfortlight, and the Ones manufactured later have an orange Comfortlight (comparable to the H2O Second Edition or Clara HD).

Does anyone know if a new Aura One: Limited Edition purchased from the Kobo online store would indeed have the orange light that their other models have? I’m not interested in blood red lighting.

Sadly there are not many videos on the Aura One limited edition. The one I saw though had the orange light.

I bought a Limited Edition from the Kobo website a few weeks ago. To me the night light is definitely orange

Just remember the device is like 4 years old now. Back than the lighting wasn't as uniform on most ereaders.

I understand. Kobo doesn’t make a large screen e-reader with uniform lighting to this day! I’ve previously returned a Forma because the gray band/horizontal gradient was too distracting.

I’ve tempered my expectations for the Aura One frontlight...I’m expecting some splotchiness. I hope it’s less distracting to me than the Forma’s inconsistencies.

At this point, I’m pretty envious of the Oasis 3’s lighting.

Yeah the Oasis 3 has the most uniform lighting I have ever seen. But Kobo has a better ecosystem imo. Especially with library books....

Yea...there are a bunch of reasons I prefer Kobo to Kindle. But if Kobo actually made a larger-than-seven-inch display with consistent, even lighting, I would immediately get one.

I was lucky enough to get a Clara HD with excellent lighting, so I'm thankful for that.
