K4 I cant update it

I have this kindle that I have given my daughter with version 4.1.0 and I wanted to update it but I do not get the option in gray in the menu. It is not registered either and when I try to link it to your account it tells me that it cannot access the network but it is connected via Wi-Fi. What can I do?

Yes,thanks, i know that and i downloaded the file bin, it´s in the roof of kindle but i cant updte because the option is grey,disable on the menu

Seems you've got a device hacked by chinese specialists with zeroes in the s/n.
It cannot be updated or registered with Amazon.
It can be jailbroken though.

But it was registered when i use it a few years ago.Now Before giving it to my daughter I have done a reset, and that is when she stayed like this.

OK, it is clear that you cannot register the device because of outdated firmware.
But why can't you update it? Can you check as follows:
- connect the device to PC
- copy the update.bin to the root
- disconnect
- check the meny Update (it is greyed, as you wrote)
- connect again. Is update.bin in place?
- if yes, disconnect and restart (not reset) the device
- connect again. Is update.bin in place?
- if not, copy any e-book to the documents folder. Can you read it?
- restart again and check this e-book. If it disappeared, there are problems with the memory: it is corrupted or in the read only mode.

Keep in mind that Kubrick has always been good with K4 devices in trouble.
Although it will not fix a broken serial number if that is the case.

Hey mate,its work!.Now i have the version 4.1.3 and she has registered the kindle with her amazon account.
I think that this version is the last for this model,right?
