Remove Tags on Pocketbook Touc Lux 4
Hello,
first of all, sorry if there is already a similar question answered- I could't seem to find it. I have worked diligently labeling all my calibre library books in a "genre" column. I made my own classification. Now I deleted all tags on my portable calibre (clicking in the bulk metedata windo, remove all tags). But when I send my clean of tags books to Pocketbook Touch Lux 4, they still show there in the genre section. How can I remove them from showing on my device? or maybe I didn't succesfully delete them from calibre itself? If no, then how to do that? My calibre version is 3.12 Thanks in advance! |

The following two images are from Calibre and the epub editor Sigil; the one from Sigil is its metadata editor. Notice how the tags in Calibre match the two dc:subject metadata lines in Sigil's metadata editor. So my guess is that the PocketBook is getting and setting its tags from the epub's dc:subject metadata. Deleting the tags in calibre apparently does not delete the tags from the epub's metadata; i.e., calibre has its own metadata; when you add the book to calibre it sets its tags from the epub's dc:subject metadata (just like the PocketBook is doing).
So I'm thinking that you need to delete those dc:subject metadata entries from the epubs. There are calibre plugins for modifying epubs and maybe one of them will fix the metadata for you. |

I have the same problems with too many tags showing up on my Pocketbook devices. Does anyone know which specific Calibre plugin can be used to remove those metadata entries?
Edit: I have found the solution: After editing the tags, the EPUB needs to be polished with "Update metadata in the book files" ticked. Last edited by LucyOne; 07-05-2019 at 09:11 AM. |
