seeking Calibre help
Hello,
I am reading Kobo books on my ipad and want to convert them to read on my Kindle (can't read the ipad screen outdoors in the sun, can't get this particular book series through Kindle). I understand that i might be able to convert using Calibre but i can't seem to add my books into the Calibre program. I downloaded the Kobo program onto my desktop thinking that would be easier but no joy. I just can't even find the file to add it to Calibre. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? |

You will need to install the tools from Apprentice Alf to remove the DRM from the Kobo files. The Kobo files are stored under the [user]/AppData directory structure (at least on Windows).
In particular you will need the Obok plugin; it knows how to find the files, remove the DRM and add the resulting file to calibre. Sent from my moto g(7) power using Tapatalk |

Perhaps I am the stupidest human being on the planet, but I went to Apprentice Alf and I STILL have no idea what I am supposed to be downloading. NOTHING references Obok. Am I supposed to buy some product here? If so, which one?
Currently, I can't get Calibre to recognize that I have purchased any books. I am not a computer wizard and I need very specific direction on how I resolve this issue. SO damn frustrated. |

In this forum it is not permitted a advice about how to get rid of DRM.
But: don't buy anything, in Apprentice Alf everything is free. I can only say: download and see yourself, or ask in the Alf's forum. Sorry but this is the best help that it is permitted here. |

As an alternative, you can download epub versions of the books from the Kobo site. Login, go to your library on and it will should list all your books. There is a menu for each book with a download option. If there is DRM on the book, it will use ADE to download the book. You can then use ADE to put the book on the device. Or, if you have installed the appropriate deDRM plugin, add it to calibre. If there is no DRM on the book, it will download the epub directly. |
