Creating Bad Images.
Hi,
This is a real basic question. I am new, a beginner in all things firmware, so please be gentle. My Kobo Mini was recently locked into a Factory Reset loop. So, I had to flash with new FW. Before I did so, I took an image of the uSD card. (The same uSD card with the Factory Reset loop) Have I captured the Factory Reset loop error, in the image file, rendering it useless? (i.e If I restore this same image, I will still find the same Factory Reset loop error)

most likely: yes
if you're missing any files, you could run photorec on the image, I guess other than that a borked image is not very useful. you could go in and attempt to fix the problem, but why when known working images exist. |
