Hello all.

I'm not new to Calibre, been using it for years. I am new to this forum though. I got here because I wanted some advice on a problem with my Calibre library, but it wasn't a topic. Maybe here?

illegal question

I'm sorry you found my question about DRM to be against Mobile read rules, as I thought Mobile read was part of the Calibre family, and Calibre addresses it regularly. I'm also sorry that Mobile read appears to be in support of DRM by the people and corporations who make the most money off of it, and not in support of the readers who want what they purchase to be readable on whatever medium they chose. I read MY purchases on an Alcatel tablet using a third party reader because I WILL NOT be told what I have to read MY books on.

Dear fmfmedic,

MobileRead is a wide-ranging community which embraces discussions of all aspect of reading and mobile devices. The Calibre support forum is one of the numerous forums that are present on our site, but Calibre is not a part of MobileRead (nor vice versa).

I'm afraid that our site rules prohibit detailed discussions of DRM removal here. That's not a matter of either supporting or opposing DRM, but simply a practical matter of legal liability for the site owner.

Best wishes,

HarryT (site admin)
